Lord Krishna is the most important of the ten incarnations of the Hindu god Vishnu.
Here he is shown with his characteristic flute, a symbol of his time spent as a cowherd. 
When he played his flute the animals around would stand still and worship him,
and the music would entice gopis to come and dance with him.

Shank, also known as Panchajanya resembles one of his four primary attributes of Lord Krishna together with the mace Kaumodaki, the Sudarshana Chakra, and the lotus. 
The Shank symbolises five elements, and is regarded to produce the primeval sound of creation when blown.
It is also beleived to be one among the various substances and beings that emerged during the Samudra Manthan.
